Product Description

Simply the Ultimate Cavity Fixing.  This product provides a solid and strong fixing point in a wide range of materials including plasterboard, lath & plaster, mdf, chipboard and others.

A 5mm x 50mm screw is provided with each fixing to be used for securing your item, however, it can be substituted with any self tapping screw up to 8mm in diameter; making the GeeFix Fixing perfect for installing ‘Muuto Dots’, our ‘security hanging system’ locking screw or anything with a larger thread screw which will not fit into any of the conventional plasterboard fixings.

The GeeFix Fixing only requires a shallow cavity of 30mm to be used.  It can be used on a wide range of materials with spectrum of thicknesses up to 75mm (with substitute screws).   Further, the screw does not need to be placed through the item to be fixed to the wall before securing, unlike ‘umbrella-style’ toggle fittings.

The fixing can often be used where a previous solution has pulled out from the wall and damaged the board.  Simply drill out the hole to 25mm if possible, insert the GeeFix Fixing and patch any further damage.

How much weight can a GeeFix fixing support?

Independent load tests revealed that GeeFix outperforms all other heavy-duty cavity wall fixings on the market. The GeeFix fixings were tested for shear, tensile and cantilever strength capabilities on 15mm plasterboard.  Note: this test was performed in the UK, 15mm plasterboard is not standard in Australia and it’s construction & density may be different to other products.

The below maximum load-testing figures are provided as guides only and cannot be guaranteed. You must make your own assessment of the age, condition, construction and capacity of base materials.  If you are unsure we recommend consulting a knowledgable professional or structural engineer.

If you could perfectly replicate the test environment including age, condition, construction and capacity of base materials we would not recommend exceeding 1/4 of the maximum (breaking point) figures.

Load Test Maximum (breaking) Weight KG
Shear 270
Tensile 71
Cantilever @ 75 mm 243
Cantilever @ 150 mm 190
Cantilever @ 300 mm 102
